Around a year back during the T20 World Cup, there were many who had a giggle at the England T20 team. Then they beat both India and Pakistan (previous finalists) in the league stages and still were looked at as an anomaly in the tournament. In the following year, things changed dramatically in the ODI format with just a few changes made to the team. Wright was around earlier but with Morgan entering the team permanently, the grim one in the middle order suddenly wasn’t the only one to look forward to when England batted in limited over cricket. Things weren’t perfect though today while batting with a little throwback to the laughing stock period during the initial few overs where Eng looked unsure of how to go about things. Another aspect that’s worth a mention here is that it’s time subcontinent teams gave a thought to their sense of bravado while facing up to a non-subcontinent spinner.
